A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written international crime thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great international crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

Great editing (minus a couple of small omissions near the end), a great story and a character list of incredible strength. The tale itself, centered around child trafficking and murder, was difficult to bear. And to have the heads of the organization be revealed as... who they were. What a twist.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Couldn't put it down. Quite the unexpected ending. The officers seemed very real having to emotionally work through the case they were investigating. While not from the UK, I enjoyed the slang used in the writing. On to the next Gus Mcquire book.
This one was a bit difficult getting through; so much anguish, blood and Gore, but it certainly kept my attention albeit disturbingly. Gus surely must be superman with his immediate recovery from multiple gunshot wounds, etc.
This was one of the best crime solving mysteries I've read in a long time.
It was well written with so many unexpected twists. I couldn't put it down. The characters were interesting. The suspense kept coming rich up to the end.
I will read more of Liz Mistry' s books.
Note This was a complete story....not a cliff hanger, which I personally dislike.
I like the DI Gus McGuire series. I may even move on the next book to see if the next book is as good as I have just read. What peeked my interest in this story was to see how Gus McGuire could save these poor children from the sick man the Matchmaker. The story was a little slow before it started to pick up when you got 50% into the book. I like the way the author wrote the story because she stayed sensitive to the story line instead of making it a sick psycho book about tortured children.
Just finished this book. Wow, what a thrilling,
nail biting ride this was. Well written, well edited, with well developed characters whose actions throughout were consistent with who they were.
A story with many twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end then will give you a few "I didn't see that coming." moments. The subject matter of child kidnapping and subsequent sexual abuse by men of power and money makes this a hard read at times. This a story that needs to be read.
Unquiet Souls is a gritty crime story that you will remember long after you finish reading it.
I have just purchased the next book in this series. I would suggest that readers who enjoy crime stories check out Bloodhound Books.

I felt like I often needed a glossary for some of the slang words used. I could figure some of the out, but not all. I guess that's what you get when reading a British novel. I also noticed some words are spelled differently in the USA versus England. I didn't expect that.
I did enjoy reading the story and the characters. I liked the short chapters and found it interesting. The story was interesting and everything was all tied together by the end of the book. It was great getting to know Gus, his parents and coworkers. It really goes to show you what people will do to protect themselves and the crimes they are committing.
If you are interested in a good mystery with in depth characters and story line, Unquiet Souls will not disappoint.
