Whatever flaws we might identify or frustrations we might feel are trivial in comparison to a reader's pure joy in losing himself/herself in a narrative. When all the elements come together: an intriguing plot, thoughtful, profound themes, complex, troubling, characters, and language that make us shudder for its honesty, clarity, and confidence; we gratefully set all analysis aside and give ourselves up to the sheer magic of a great book. And for me, Permanent Ink: Deadwalkers is such a book.

The story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that's something I really look for in a good book.

The book description says it all; “The town of Monte Vista, is on the verge of making history. Single mother Kathy Olson and her son, Brian, along with their neighbors didn’t know what hit them when Brian’s best friend Caleb brought him one of Aspen Stationers’ new Lumiosa pens. But unfortunately, it took only a couple of days for the ‘pen fever’ to spread like wildfire. Once Brian was infected with the deadly ink, the rest of Monte Vista didn’t stand a chance.

Brian attacked his mother, they both infected their neighbor Paige Daugherty, and the three of them managed to violently pull Max Fisher into their deranged fold. By the time the upcoming school year was set to begin Monday, the only people who could be found in the school were the residents of Monte Vista who had barricaded themselves in to save their own lives, adults and children alike.

Fortunately, calls were made, and by six in the morning that same Monday, the news was able to make an emergency alert regarding the state of the small town, which was far from good and rapidly getting worse.”

If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens next, you’ll just have to turn the pages yourself to find out!

This captivating and commendable work had me immersed from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional skill when it comes to storytelling. There are attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a spellbinding journey!

It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader!

I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from RWK Clark in the future. I would definitely recommend this book. Five stars from me.

Permanent Ink Deadwalkers edition by RWK Clark Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a good book to read. It's a little different than most zombie books. It starts out strong and grabs your attention from the first pages.
I think this is just the meaning of original. It's not a copycat, copying other books. No,something is in this that makes you want to know what happens and keep reading. Some book are interesting at first then boring, but this book is not one of them.I highly recommend this book.Warningdon't read if scared or hate gore.Warningdon't read this or you won't stop reading this original idea!
I am a huge fan of zompoc stories and this book was a pleasant addition to the genre. It gives a refreshingly new spin to how the virus starts and gets you thinking just how easily a virus can be spread when the company releasing the product goes against the lead scientists recommendation to do further research.
Excellent story . Kept me reading chapter after chapter. .
Loved the ending. Hope there will be a second book.
A new novelty ink turns deadly in this supernatural thriller. A new take on the outbreak scenario that really makes you look at the way fads can carry more than just noteriety when they arrive.
I absolutely enjoyed this book! The plot was good and the story line was captivating. I just wanted to keep on reading. If you enjoy zombie stories, then this book is a must read. Great read!!
This is not your typical zombie novel full of slow zombies, and dumb zombies that fall into a ditch and can't get out. Or can't leave the car because they can't figure out the seatbelt.

These zombies talk!

I also like the premise of the chemicals in a pen that makes holographic letters causing the zombie epidemic is brilliant. The book is a bit slow at the begining, but then the pace picks up tremendously and it becomes a roller coaster full of action and suspense.

So if you need a break from The Walking Dead, World War Z, and the typical zombie books, this is a good one.
